Sunny Day…
Feeling better and getting your life back on track!
-
Gradually increase activity tolerance incorporating safe, efficient body movement.
-
Focus on motivation, mind-body connection, coping skills, managing stress and anxiety.
-
Instrumental Activities of Daily Living: finances, home management, restocking and preparing for next round of chemo.
According to new research, if you are feeling better, know that the type of exercise you engage in seems to matter:
SPECIFICALLY, TWO TYPES OF EXERCISE WERE HIGHLIGHTED IN A RECENT STUDY AS PROVIDING THE MOST BENEFIT. PARTICIPATING IN BOTH TYPES OF ACTIVITIES DURING CHEMOTHERAPY YIELDED THE BEST RESULTS:
Aerobic exercise helps strengthen the heart and lungs.
Resistance exercise strengthens the muscles.
PREPARE FOR YOUR NEXT ROUND OF CHEMO
Are you a few days away from your next chemo infusion? If so, now is the time to check-in / self-reflect:
Ask yourself: "What could I have done better during this last round of chemo?"
Pick ONE thing you could have done better. ...Then find some ways NOW to set yourself up for success in that area...
Your future self will thank you :-)
STAY TUNED…more to come…
